A month after Square Enix shut down the ability for players to\u00a0buy houses in its MMO game, producer Yoshi-P has finally confirmed the\u00a0Final Fantasy XIV Housing Lottery return date for later this month \u2013 with maintenance and testing kicking off on Monday.<\/p>\n

As of\u00a0patch 6.1\u00a0with the Endwalker expansion, the Final Fantasy XIV team introduced a housing system\u00a0for the Empyreum residential district. This is governed by a lottery system\u00a0where players get\u00a0randomly chosen for a plot of land, which worked well \u2013 until it didn\u2019t, choosing the winning number of zero despite no players being able to select it.<\/p>\n

In a new update, producer\u00a0Naoki Yoshida confirms that the team\u00a0has finally \u201ccompleted preparations to implement our fixes and restore lottery data\u201d. The team will conduct maintenance to restore\u00a0the correct lottery results this Monday, May 16, and any \u201ctemporary suspensions\u201d on buying plot purchases and relocations will be lifted. Winners will have until the next lottery cycle to claim their plots of land, and even if their ticket was refunded they\u2019ll still be able to finalise the purchase \u2013 although Yoshida asks that players kindly return their refunded deposit voluntarily.<\/p>\n

Once Square Enix confirms that all the fixes have been successful, the housing lottery will properly resume on May 26 at 8am PDT \/ 11am EDT \/ 4pm BST<\/strong>. In closing, Yoshida\u00a0extends his\u00a0\u201cdeepest apologies for the trouble and inconvenience these issues have caused\u201d and the team will \u201cdo everything in our power to safely restore your data, fix any remaining issues, and bring you all a fair and functional housing lottery system\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Final Fantasy news, Yoshida confirms that Final Fantasy XVI is in its \u201cfinal stages\u201d of development and its next trailer is done, apparently \u2013 so expect to see it soon.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
