According to a report on Kotaku, Hanger 13 is currently in the early stages of development on a new Mafia game.<\/p>\n

The news comes following confirmation of the departure of studio boss Haden Blackman earlier today. Apparently, the new Mafia game is in \u2018very early development\u2019 and is being worked on at Hanger 13\u2019s Brighton, UK team. It\u2019s codenamed Nero, and is allegedly going to be a prequel to the original Mafia trilogy.<\/p>\n

The report goes on to say that the new Mafia game is going to be developed using the Unreal Engine 5 instead of the Mafia 3 engine that was used in the remasters of the previous Mafia games.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Blackman\u2019s replacement will be Nick Baynes, who heads up the Brighton office. 2K released the following statement announcing his new role:<\/p>\n

2K has not officially announced a new Mafia game yet, so treat this as speculation for the time being.<\/p>\n
