  <em>Sonic Prime <\/em>is an upcoming animated Netflix series that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/2021\/02\/01\/new-sonic-the-hedgehog-netflix-animated-series-revealed-sonic-prime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first announced<\/a> in February 2021. We haven\u2019t heard much of a peep about it since, and though we\u2019re still waiting for a proper&nbsp;trailer, a new promotional video provides the first glimpse of the show.&nbsp;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
Netflix released a trailer montage promoting its upcoming slate of kid-friendly animated shows. Sonic Prime<\/em> pops up at the very end, with Sonic sprinting and collecting rings across\u00a0Green Hill Zone. Sonic also speaks, giving fans the first sample of voice actor Deven Mack\u2019s performance.\u00a0You can catch the clip at the 1:49\u00a0mark.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Sonic Prime <\/em>still doesn\u2019t have a premiere date. We only know that the show consists of 24 episodes and centers on Sonic fighting to save a multiverse from supposed\u00a0doom. Netlfix\u2019s official description of the series pegs it as a \u201cjourney of self-discovery and redemption.\u201d Other cast members include\u00a0Ashleigh Ball, Shannon Chan-Kent, Brian Drummond, Vincent Tong, Ian Hanlin, Kazumi Evans, and Adam Narada.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a great time to be Sonic the Hedgehog. His second theatrical film had the best opening weekend of any video game movie in history, a third film has already been greenlit, and another animated show spun-off from those movies is coming to Paramount+. He\u2019s also got two games slated for 2022. Sonic Origins, a remastered bundle of classic Sonic games, arrives in June,\u00a0while Sonic Frontiers, the hedgehog\u2019s first open-world adventure, releases later this year.<\/p>\n
