Call of Duty<\/strong> Mobile seems all set to finally enter the E-sports arena with Call of Duty Mobile World Championship<\/strong>. The tournament is supposedly in a very advanced stage of development with a possible launch in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Developed by Activision and Tencent Call of Duty Mobile saw global launch back in 2019. Loosely based on Activision\u2019s popular franchise Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the mobile version proved to be a huge success.<\/p>\n

Now, Activision wants to make it into mobile E-sports with Call of Duty mobile world championship. It is going to be the first official tournament for the Call of duty mobile. The tournament will pit teams against each other from around the globe.<\/p>\n

The official stance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The official stance on CoDM World Championship remains very secretive as the developers are yet to issue any official statements. When asked about it, Activision clarified that the matter was still in internal discussion with no decision made so far on the launch.<\/p>\n

However, significant leaks have fueled the hopes of Call of Duty mobile lovers across the world over the possible release of the world championship in the immediate future.<\/p>\n

On March 19, 2020, Matt \u201cMobileMatt\u201d Rutledge, Director of mobile gaming at Complexity Gaming, created quite a buzz when he tweeted a screenshot containing various information about the tournament. The image contained to be the stages, schedule dates, and even rules for participating in Call of duty mobile world championship.
According to the leak, CoD: Mobile Championship 2020 is scheduled to begin with qualifiers from April 2, 2020.<\/p>\n

On being questioned in the comments as to how he got hold of this photo, prominent Cod Mobile YouTuber, Luke Fergie, replied that the picture leaked during a beta test server event hosted a couple of weeks ago by Activision.<\/p>\n

Activision had invited players to test and give feedback on the upcoming features of CoD Mobile. Allegedly some of the players got access to the Call of Duty Mobile world championship page due to a bug during the event.<\/p>\n

CoD Mobile World Championship Stages<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On aking a more thorough look at the information, more details begin to come to light. According to the tweeted image, Call of Duty world championship will have four qualifiers in April(1 over each weekend). The disclosed information indicates that the CODM world championship would consist of a total of 5 stages held throughout 2020, starting with the qualifiers this April.
The leaked information also includes a list detailing the type and schedule for each of 5 stages<\/p>\n

Solo Tournaments: April 3 to 26<\/p>\n

Team tournaments: May 1 to 10<\/p>\n

Regional Qualifier: May 17 to 31<\/p>\n

Regional Playoffs: June to August<\/p>\n

CODM Championship 2020<\/p>\n

The two stages of CODM World Championship 2020, will be normal game events with the latter three likely to be LAN events.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, for the time being, the tournament will not truly be a world championship. Due to logistical and legal constraints, Call of duty mobile world championship will only be available to players in certain countries and regions.<\/p>\n

  • All players from the listed counties willing to enter the Call of duty mobile world championship will have to sign up to participate in qualifier events once the official dates are released.<\/li>\n
  • Players can participate in all the qualifiers if they wish to.<\/li>\n
  • Players will get scores based on the number of wins and rank for the first ten rank matches they participate in during the qualifier event.<\/li>\n
  • Once a qualifier event is over, the points gained during it will reset. The player is either qualified or can try to be eligible in the next qualifiers.<\/li>\n
  • It only takes one qualifier to be eligible for the team up phase of the tournament.
