Now, as we get closer to the May 11 shutdown, Bethesda has started adding some of its classic games to Steam. Some are arriving on Valve\u2019s digital storefront for the first time, and three for the low, low cost of nothing at all.<\/p>\nToday, Bethesda added five classic titles to Steam<\/span>, mainly from the Elder Scrolls<\/em> franchise<\/span>, including two of its lesser-known and more obscure spin-offs, Redguard<\/em><\/span> and Battlespire<\/em><\/span>. Here\u2019s the full list.<\/p>\n\n- The Elder Scrolls Arena<\/em><\/li>\n
- The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall<\/em><\/li>\n
- The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard<\/em><\/li>\n
- An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire<\/em><\/li>\n
- Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
But not only are these now available on Steam, but some of them are free. You can grab Elder Scrolls Arena<\/em> and its sequel Daggerfall <\/em>for free. Plus, the online multiplayer shooter Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory<\/em> costs 0 bucks at the moment. And while there isn\u2019t any indication from Bethesda that these are temporary deals or mistakes, I\u2019d suggest grabbing them ASAP just in case someone at Bethesda made a mistake during this big move back to Steam.<\/p>\nThe remaining two games don\u2019t cost much more than free, with Redguard <\/em>and Battlespire <\/em>going for $6 each.<\/p>\nKotaku<\/em> has reached out to Bethesda asking about the free games.<\/p>\nRead More:<\/strong> The Elder Scrolls<\/em> Is At Its Best When Its Super-Weird<\/span><\/p>\nJust remember that while all these games are part of two popular franchises, these are older titles that haven\u2019t aged particularly well in some ways. And it doesn\u2019t appear that these classics have been fixed up by Bethesda ahead of this move to Steam. But speaking generally, there are plenty of tools and mods out there that can improve your experience playing classic PC games.<\/p>\n
As a reminder, the Bethesda Launcher and store are shutting down for good on May 11. Starting tomorrow, April 27, Bethesda will allow players to migrate all of their games and wallet funds to Steam.
