Niantic today unveiled details about Pokemon GO<\/strong>\u2018s new updates for Mega Evolution, which includes the introduction of Mega Levels. Ultimately, the developer is looking to make things easier for players.<\/p>\nHere\u2019s the full rundown from Niantic:<\/p>\n
\nIntroducing Mega Levels<\/u><\/p>\n
Trainers will be able to enjoy a new way to help their Pok\u00e9mon grow with Mega Levels. Every time a Pok\u00e9mon Mega Evolves, it works towards increasing its Mega Level. Trainers will get more bonuses every time a Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s Mega Level goes up.<\/p>\n

Bonuses will vary by Pok\u00e9mon and can include the following:<\/p>\n
\nIncreased Candy when you catch Pok\u00e9mon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pok\u00e9mon<\/li>\n While attacking with a Mega-Evolved Pok\u00e9mon in a Raid Battle or a Gym battle, the attacks of other Trainers\u2019 Pok\u00e9mon challenging that same raid or Gym will deal more damage. Their Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s attacks will deal even more damage if the attack is the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n **NEW** Increased chance of earning Candy XL when you catch Pok\u00e9mon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n **NEW** Increased XP for catching Pok\u00e9mon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n **NEW** A Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s rest period decreases as its Mega Level increases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nA one-time cost to Mega-Evolve<\/u><\/p>\n
With this update, after you Mega Evolve a Pok\u00e9mon for the first time, you\u2019ll be able to Mega Evolve that same Pok\u00e9mon again without using Mega Energy!<\/p>\n
\nAfter Mega Evolving, your Pok\u00e9mon will be fatigued and need time before it can Mega Evolve again.<\/li>\n Once this rest period is over, that Pok\u00e9mon can Mega Evolve again without using Mega Energy.<\/li>\n You can use Mega Energy to decrease a Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s rest period. The Mega Energy required to Mega Evolve a Pok\u00e9mon will decrease as the Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s rest period becomes shorter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\nNiantic also announced changes being made to Mega Evolution and Mega Raids in Pokemon GO. Most Mega Raids will be easier, players will be able to Mega Evolve their Pokemon from raid and battle prep screens, and Pokemon that have already Mega Evolved previously will now have an additional visual effect added to their information page to commemorate this achievement.<\/p>\n
The Mega Evolution update for Pokemon GO is now live in Australia and New Zealand. It will follow in other regions soon.<\/p>\n
