Want to know about the Final Fantasy XIV Aglaia raid? Introduced in the recently released 6.1 patch,\u00a0Aglaia is the first stage of the Alliance Raid. The Aglaia raid\u00a0brings together\u00a0three parties consisting of eight players each to fight against the divinities of Eorzea. As is the case with most raids in this\u00a0MMO game, there\u2019s a unique storyline to delve into, powerful equipment to find, and much more.<\/p>\n

This raid\u00a0is part of the\u00a0Myths of the Realm series,\u00a0giving players a chance to learn about the\u00a0twelve gods of Eorzea, exploring the divinities that have been lurking around the game\u2019s margins since the beginning. To jump into the Final Fantasy XIV Aglaia raid<\/strong>, you must be level 90, have at least the item level of 565, and complete all the main scenario quests from this new patch.<\/p>\n

Once you have done that, go to Old Sharlayan <\/strong>and speak with the\u00a0Fresh-faced Student<\/strong> (X:9.1 Y:11.5)\u00a0to obtain the\u00a0\u2018A Mission in Mor Dhona\u2019<\/strong> quest \u2013 this chain of missions lead you to the raid.\u00a0Here\u2019s what you need to know to tackle the main bosses of the Final Fantasy XIV Aglaia raid.<\/p>\n

Compared to other Alliance Raids, Aglaia is one of the easier ones to get through, mechanically speaking. You will find a lot of group damage, AoEs, and tank busters, but most of the obstacles are already present in other duties within FFXIV.<\/p>\n

In total, there are four bosses and two minor encounters. A chest drops after defeating the bosses, each containing two pieces of gear for a specific type of job. Only the\u00a0final\u00a0boss drops more gear, as well as the Nald Card<\/strong>, the Wind-Up Azeyma<\/strong>, and the In the Balance Orchestrion Roll<\/strong>. As this is a new raid, for now you can only get one drop per week outside of the cards and the Orchestrion Rolls.<\/p>\n

FINAL FANTASY XIV AGLAIA RAID BOSSES<\/h2>\n

Byregot<\/h3>\n

The first boss\u00a0in the raid is\u00a0the Zeus-like god, Byregot. The first phase of the fight is a\u00a0standard boss battle that takes place within the arena. After some time, Byregot\u00a0marks both sides of the arena and\u00a0smashes them, marking the beginning of the second phase.<\/p>\n

Be careful around the sides of the arena as\u00a0Byregot spawns swinging hammers to strike the stage, moving large chunks of the arena around.\u00a0The secret to surviving during this\u00a0phase is to stay on the opposite side of the glowing hammers.\u00a0Once they hit the arena, a safe zone appears which prevents you from falling off, similar to a mechanic used in the Zodiark\u2019s Trial in Endwalker. During the fight, Byregot uses\u00a0powerful skills that are important to keep in mind:<\/p>\n

Byregot\u2019s Strike<\/strong>\u00a0causes a\u00a0blue circle\u00a0to\u00a0appear on the ground which knocks\u00a0players\u00a0back. You must position yourself carefully at the edge of\u00a0the circle to be pushed away from the impact, allowing you to avoid taking any damage.\u00a0There\u2019s a stronger\u00a0version of Byregot\u2019s Strike where electric cone attacks follow the impact, so you must position yourself carefully so that you can be pushed into a safe area.<\/p>\n

Byregot\u2019s Ward<\/strong> is a tank buster attack that targets\u00a0the player with the most aggro in that moment, and Reproduce<\/strong> sees Byregot create five copies of himself. All of Byregot\u2019s copies\u00a0perform a frontal attack, but attacks from the copies which are not glowing will be slower. Stand in the path of the non-glowing copies first, then move to the other lanes once the quicker attacks have passed.<\/p>\n

Rhalgr<\/h3>\n

The Rhalgr<\/strong>\u00a0fight takes place in an arena shaped like a massive hand. Like with Byregot, there are some special moves you need to watch out for. Rhalgr\u00a0attacks with the\u00a0Advent of the Eighth<\/strong> and\u00a0follows it up with the\u00a0Hand of The Destroyer<\/strong>. This causes two of the four rings floating around him to transform into large portals \u2013 a blue one and a red one. The remaining two rings will\u00a0hover in front of him, also coloured blue and red. Whenever Rhalgr punches a ring, a devastating AoE attack emerges from the portal of the same colour.<\/p>\n

To avoid this attack, pay attention to which arm Rhalgr raises and the colour of the ring he\u2019s trying to strike, then head\u00a0to the side of the arena that matches the other colour. The second version of this attack\u00a0features\u00a0one portal\u00a0with a large\u00a0AoE marker in front of it. Later in the fight, Rhalgr\u00a0mixes both versions, so just keep using the same strategy that\u2019s appropriate for the version of the attack Rhalgr uses.<\/p>\n

During the fight,\u00a0he\u00a0uses\u00a0Rhalgr\u2019s Beacon<\/strong> which pushes players away. In its second version, position yourself to be pushed into one of the fingers that have no purple orbs with AoE markers. There\u2019s also the Destructive Bolt<\/strong>, a tank buster attack, and Bronze Work<\/strong>, which creates two groups of cone-shaped AoE markers. Stay in one of the second group until the first attack explodes, then move to the safe spot.<\/p>\n

Azeyma<\/h3>\n

The third boss in Aglaia is Azeyma<\/strong>, one of the keepers of the realm.\u00a0She has many different skills and even though her fight doesn\u2019t have a specific gimmick like the previous two, this\u00a0battle can be challenging \u2013 be prepared to deal with lots of AoE attacks during this fight.<\/p>\n

First, there\u2019s the Solar Wings\u00a0<\/strong>attack which summons\u00a0large AoE cones\u00a0that cover\u00a0each side of the arena. There\u2019s also\u00a0Sun\u2019s Shine<\/strong>: in its first phase, Azeyma summons fire spheres and detonates them. After some time, clones of\u00a0Azeyma appear\u00a0next to the spheres. To avoid the damage, stay behind whichever copy the others are facing away from.<\/p>\n

The hardest part of the battle is when Azeyma uses Solar Fans<\/strong>, Radiant Rhythm<\/strong>, and Radiant Finish<\/strong> in that order. When the fans stop, two massive AoE markers appear. You need to move to one of the other quadrants to avoid taking damage.<\/p>\n

When she uses Solar Fold<\/strong>, Azeyma performs a\u00a0cross-attack and leaves four markers on the ground. Right after, she\u00a0creates copies of herself\u00a0to blow\u00a0the\u00a0Solar Flair orbs in one specific direction. Avoid this attack by going to one quadrant that no other copy is facing.<\/p>\n

The last major skill you should learn about is Wildfire Ward<\/strong>:\u00a0this attack covers the whole arena\u00a0in\u00a0flames and it features a triangular-shaped safe zone. Shortly after, lines of fire\u00a0are drawn around\u00a0the arena in a specific order along with a direction. Pay attention to these lines\u00a0as they\u2019re set to explode in the order the directions appear. Try to stay on the long edge of the triangle to avoid being shoved into the fire.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nald\u2019Thal<\/h3>\n

The final boss battle in the\u00a0Aglaia raid is against\u00a0Nald\u2019Thal<\/strong>. This is the hardest fight in the raid as\u00a0he comes prepared with a variety of attacks to make things complicated for your party. Right at the beginning of the fight, Nald\u2019Thal uses Heat Above, Flames Below<\/strong>, adding dangerous zones to the arena.\u00a0If the walls of the arena are blue, the safe zone is yellow, but if they are yellow, you should move to the blue.<\/p>\n

Nald\u2019Thal also uses\u00a0Once Above, Ever Below\u00a0<\/strong>which summons\u00a0two sets of circles, one blue and the other yellow. Keep an eye on the colour matching the colour of the arena \u2013 these circles are set to explode. Stay within the opposite colour to avoid taking any damage.\u00a0In addition to this, tankers and healers must pay attention to the Golden Tenet<\/strong> skill \u2013 a tank buster\u00a0that\u00a0requires all\u00a0the tanks to group\u00a0together in order to minimise the damage to the rest of the party.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0main mechanic you\u00a0need to\u00a0be aware of is Soul\u2019s Measure<\/strong>. First, the boss summons three soul vessels. Once the vessels are defeated, a weight symbol appears over your character, and the arena is split in two sides. Everyone must spread out between the two sides to balance the ghostly scale on the edge of the arena. The position of the spirit vessel corpses also contributes to the weight of the two sides.<\/p>\n

The final sequence is one of the most confusing mechanics in\u00a0the entire raid. Nald\u2019Thal\u2019s sequence of Fire Up I<\/strong>, Fire Up II<\/strong>, Fire Up III<\/strong>, and Fortune\u2019s Flux<\/strong>. When Nald\u2019Thal casts one of the Fires,\u00a0this ability places\u00a0a mark on the arena and\u00a0displays a blue or yellow symbol above their head. Yellow indicates a knock back attack, while blue indicates a large AoE. The attacks are set to detonate\u00a0in the order indicated by the diamonds above the markers.<\/p>\n
