Harvest Days first catches your eye with its bright and colourful art style \u2014 it promises to be a combination of farming sim and life sim, with you working to restore your farm and live peacefully alongside nature in the quiet countryside of Duda\u2019s Village. We reached out to the Harvest Days team for more information about Harvest Days, with Family Devs CEO Pau De La Cruz and Toplitz Productions PR and marketing\u2019s Manuel Wilding having been kind enough to answer our questions.<\/p>\n

What is Harvest Days?

Harvest Days is an open world game that mixes together elements of farming sims and life sims as you work on your farm in the peace of a country community. It\u2019s in development from Family Devs and is published by Toplitz Productions.<\/p>\n

When does Harvest Days launch?
<\/h2>\n

Harvest Days launches into Steam Early Access on May 12th, with the full Version 1.0 releasing for consoles in Q4 2022.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it about?
<\/h2>\n

Harvest Days sees you moving from the chaos of a city life to the calm and quiet of a life in the country. \u201cHarvest Days is a classic farming game at the first look of it, but of course there is much more to discover and to do than just working on the farm,\u201d De La Cruz and Wilding explain. \u201cAs you get introduced to the story of the village you will find out that events in the past lead to people moving away from it. So the mayor took action and offered free abandoned space in exchange for the repopulation of Duda\u00b4s Village. After you have established a profitable farm, you can buy plots and build houses on them so that more people can move to this beautiful place and reward you regularly with rent.\u201d<\/p>\n

How does Harvest Days play?
<\/h2>\n

You\u2019ve got a lot to do in Harvest Days \u2014 farming, harvesting, trading, caring for your animals, gathering resources, and building, but Harvest Days also encourages you to take it easy in your new farming life, alternating farm work with exploring, fishing, and chatting with your neighbours. \u201cApart from farming and exploring the beautiful village with its different biomes, you can follow your hobby of fishing, care for your pets and take a walk with them, talk with all the different inhabitants, spend some time in Kiko\u00b4s Bar, reveal the mysteries behind a locked gate, or visit the great founder’s hall of Duda\u00b4s Village,\u201d De La Cruz and Wilding explain. \u201cThe first thing you do in the morning should be to water your crops, take care of your fields, and harvest the ones that are ready. After that you could gather some resources like wood, stone, berries or other things you need. You could help some of the other villagers or expand your farm by crafting a Barn for the animals, for example. To end your hard day you could travel to the pier and enjoy the sunset during some relaxing fishing before going to bed.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, what is the Harvest Days team most looking forward to players experiencing when Harvest Days launches? \u201cI\u00b4m mostly excited to hear how people approach their new life and on which part they focus on in the beginning; if they start by upgrading their farm, exploring around the area, or immediately start making friends by helping the others,\u201d we’re told.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the world like?
<\/h2>\n

\u201cDuda\u00b4s Village is a relatively small town, but the area around is filled with places to discover,\u201d De La Cruz and Wilding say. \u201cFor example, a beautiful beach, the mighty waterfall at the mountainside, a dark mine with valuable gems, a swamp hidden in dense fog, and of course other farms of some of the other villagers.\u201d <\/p>\n

Harvest Days features an eye-catchingly bright and colourful art style. \u201cThe game Harvest Days was influenced by well-known titles like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, which are recognized for their simplistic but playful looks,\u201d begins De La Cruz and Wilding. \u201cThese were also criteria for Harvest Days, but also to standout from the other counterparts. So low-poly fitted perfectly for the setting, with the same simplicity but still colourful appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Any news on the Harvest Days achievements?
<\/h2>\n

We don\u2019t yet have the Harvest Days achievements, but De La Cruz and Wilding gave us a few hints of what to expect. \u201cWithout spoiling too much about the various achievements players get rewarded with, there will be ones for different aspects of the game \u2014 classic achievements like how many trees have you cut, or stone mined, fish caught but also more player-specific ones; how often do you go to bed early or how often have you overworked yourself.\u201d We\u2019ll be sure to update you when we get the achievements through!<\/p>\n
