The Upturned<\/em> pits you against thirty floors of scary and silly monstrosities as you struggle to just get to your hotel room and head to bed.<\/p>\n

Going to a massive hotel for the dead was probably not a great idea. Then again, I\u2019ve stayed in some real dives while trying to save a few bucks on lodgings, so I do feel for the protagonist, here. That said, the other deceased inhabitants are going to cause a\u00a0 lot of trouble as you try to get to your room. While you may be used to drunk, rowdy folks at your hotels, these tenants are a bit more dangerous. However, the ten types of undead that lurk in the halls have their own unique behaviors. This means you won\u2019t just find them charging towards you. Some will, but others will quietly stalk you. Find other ways to surprise you. Just because you seem like you\u2019re alone doesn\u2019t mean that you are.<\/p>\n

This game does have a sense of humor about itself, though. Why else would there be a bouncy castle here? However, that silly nature doesn\u2019t make them any less lethal. It just means that it can be pretty funny to toss furniture at crows as they try to peck your eyes out. Not that furniture is the only way you\u2019ll fight back as you explore floors that seem to contain Wild West towns, aquariums, and a whole abandoned shopping mall. You don\u2019t know what to expect from your foes while you fight them, but you\u2019re probably even less equipped to deal with how the environments keep shifting as well.<\/p>\n

The Upturned<\/em> will have you screaming with laughter and terror \u2013 sometimes at the same time. It\u2019s a wild horror experience that continually rewards you for all the time you spend playing it.<\/p>\n
