Freedom Games\u00a0and\u00a0TRAGsoft\u00a0have confirmed that \u201cunexpected snags\u201d have resulted in a decision to delay their modern monster-taming RPG\u00a0Coromon<\/strong>\u2018s release on Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is definitely not an announcement we ever wanted to make but we want to be as transparent and honest as possible with you all,\u201d the developer began in an update.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile working on our Nintendo Switch port of Coromon, we ran into some unexpected snags when it comes to online features and cross-platform multiplayer. We want to make sure that the experience we bring to you all on Switch is going to be the best that it can be, and in order to do this, we have to delay the Switch launch. We\u2019re hopeful that this delay won\u2019t be too terribly long, as we know that you all are very excited to play Coromon on the go and against your friends\/other researchers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith all of that being said, we will still be launching on Steam this Thursday, March 31! The Steam build will include multiplayer and cross-platform saves. Your saves from the Steam demo will also be able to be transferred over to the full version of the game. Once we do launch on Switch you will be able to play cross-platform.<\/p>\n

Promising a \u201crefreshing take on the monster-taming genre set in a charming pixel-art world,\u201d in Coromon you play as an aspiring researcher who joins a technologically advanced organisation called Lux Solis.<\/p>\n

Assigned to a specialised team known as the Titan Taskforce, you are challenged to investigate the six Titans in the region of Velua. However, you soon discover that extraterrestrial forces are attempting to bring a mysterious elemental-type to your planet which causes the fundament of the world to slowly collapse.<\/p>\n

You will receive assistance from Lux Solis, who will prove you with useful gadgets. But, it is up to you to gather the Titan Essences and undo the damage that has been dealt to the Earth\u2019s core.<\/p>\n

With more than 120 Coromon to catch \u2013 which each has its own individual animations and iconic designs \u2013 the gameplay experience has looked to blend elements from the JRPG genre with the monster-taming formula. That will encompass a \u201clengthy and compelling\u201d story, the need to face off against powerful bosses and to overcome puzzles in challenging dungeons.<\/p>\n

Coromon will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2022.<\/p>\n
